Dear Cornerstone Family,
Do you ever struggle with discouraging thoughts? Feelings of shame? Fear of what might happen? Doubts about your relationship with God? How did I know? This is how Satan attacks us. He can’t make us do anything, but he often can get in our head and throw arrows shame, fear and doubts.
In Ephesians 6:17, the Apostle Paul tells us to stand firm by taking “the helmet of salvation.” The helmet was an essential piece of armor because it protected the head. One of the most important abilities a soldier had was the ability to think and make plans. Spiritually speaking, our thoughts control our ability to focus on what is most important and to keep progressing forward. The enemy cannot make us do anything, but he can distract us with thoughts of shame, fear, and doubts.
To stand firm with the helmet of salvation, we must take every thought captive by thinking and speaking the truth about our relationship with Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NIV) we read, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
A stronghold was a military fortress, not a flimsy shack. If we want to demolish strongholds, then we need to take every thought captive to our identity in Jesus Christ.

Family Night
Come check out Family Night every Tuesday from 6-7:30 pm. Connect and meet some new friends. All ages-everyone welcome! We meet in the café for dinner, worship together, then break into small groups. The kids are in age-appropriate groups that include study and activities. Childcare for ages 0-3 provided.
