Dear Cornerstone Family,

We may not be aware of it, but we are in a spiritual battle for our families. This weekend we will begin a new series called: Battle For The Family. I am so excited to see how God is going to use this series to bless and restore our families. This may be the most important series I have taught in years.

The enemy wants to destroy our families and God wants to save our families. The next generation is hanging in the balance. In Ephesians 6:12 (NLT2) the Apostle Paul said, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

We must remember our family is not the enemy. We must battle against the devil, our culture and our flesh for the future of our families.

We all lose our temper at times, but are we aware that harboring ill feelings can give the devil an opportunity to harm our families? In Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIV) Paul warns us, “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry and Do not give the devil a foothold.”

Join us this Sunday as we begin to study how we can protect our families and have victory over the devil, our culture and our flesh.

Super Bowl Party-This Sunday!
Calling all football fans! Gather with us Sunday at 2:30 pm for some BBQ hamburgers & hot dogs and cheer for your team on our big screens. Bring your family and friends and a side dish or dessert to share. It’s going to be fun!

Tuesday Family Night:
Family Night is launching this coming Tuesday, Feb. 5, 6-7:30 pm in the Xtreme Youth building. Join us weekly as we gather to worship and grow with one another. This is for everyone-young or old, married or single! We will begin with refreshments and worship with everyone, then break into small groups. The kids will be in age-appropriate groups that will include study and activities. Childcare for ages 0-3 provided. Men’s Breakfast:
Guys, round up your friends! The Men’s Breakfast is coming up Saturday, Feb. 9, 8-10:00 am, in the church café. We are excited that Phil Plantier, coach and former major league baseball player, will be our guest speaker. You won’t want to miss it! Sign up on Sunday or email Jim Ellington: rvrmn@cox.net. Dinners for 8:
Dinners for 8 kick off on Sunday, Feb. 10, with a meet and greet at church from 12:30-1:30 pm. Lunch will be provided, bring a dessert to share if you’d like. Dinner groups will decide when and where they want to meet and will gather once a month from February through May. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect and make new friends. MOPS – Mothers of Preschoolers:
A new MOPS group will be starting Feb. 17 that will meet every other Sunday from 12:30-2:00 pm. Come relax and enjoy the time with other moms in small group discussions, providing support and encouragement, as you equip one another on the challenges of motherhood. Invite your mom friends!
